Latest Updates from Our Project:

Cover Voting, Backer Kit Reminder, and More!

Hello Runewild Backers,

I hope this finds you well. First I want to give you a quick update on the Runewild. The writing is nearly complete, with Bill just adding a few touches on things like the new monsters required for the new encounters. Once he's finished with that things will go to editing, which might take a couple weeks.

Meanwhile I we're starting to get in maps and art sketches. We do seem a little behind on those, however, so it seems likely we won't hit our end of the month target for releasing the Runewild Setting PDF. I think we should be able to get it in June though. If we do, I think we should still be able to send out print books by the end of August.

Cover Voting

Speaking of sketches, I asked Joyce to do two possible sketches featuring Rolf Flynn, the character created by our On the Cover backer, and I'm asking you all to vote on which image you prefer. We'll use one of the final images as the cover and transform the other into a half page illustration for the inside of the book.

Here's the link to vote on the cover: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScU5H5oYIeGSLDb0MfkiP1iIVQe6A4nDZoCprcPwOySE24ovg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Back Kit Update

Thanks to everybody who responded on Backer Kit so far. There are still about 10% of you who have not responded. This is especially important to do for print backers, since this is the way I'm collecting your mailing addresses. If you have not had a chance, please fill out your survey soon.

If you did not get an invataion email, you can trying getting Backer Kit to send a new one through this link: https://runewild.backerkit.com/ or you can let me know by sending my a Kickstarter message or emailing [email protected].

For those of you who have filled out the survey, I added a question about how you want your name to appear in the backer credits (sorry I didn't have this up right away). If you want to make sure you are listed a particular way, you can update your survey through the link above or contacting me directly. This is mostly important to fill out if you want to be listed as something other than you real name. If you don't let me know otherwise, I will use the name listed for your address if I have it, and your Kickstarter backer name if not.

That's what I've got for now. I'll try to update again before the end of the month. I'll leave you with one of my favorite sketches so far.

Springtime is Here! (In the Runewild and Northern Hemisphere)
about 5 years ago – Fri, Mar 29, 2019 at 12:41:03 AM

We've just released the fourth and final adventure in the Seasons of the Runewild series: Springtime Comes to Kidwelly. You should have gotten an email from DriveThruRPG with a link to a complimentary copy. If not, let me know and we'll get things fixed.

The Winners Are...

Thanks to everybody who voted to select the additional extended encounters. The Crypts of Maythorn Dun was the clear number one choice with an average rating of 4.18 and the highest number of people rating it a five (47%).

The battle for second and third place was close, but the Witch of East-Doom (average rating 3.88) and Tomb of the Feathered Serpent (average rating 3.83) narrowly beat out the House in the Cloud (average rating 3.77).

If your favorite was not among the winners, don't fret. Bill liked many of the ideas well enough that he's incorporated them into shorter encounters in the Runewild.

Status Update

We continue to work steadily along for the main book. Bill has finished the new encounters and is giving the original ones another revision while I'm going through and commenting on the new encounters. I'll try to post the new encounters for you to look at sometime in April.

I'm also in the process of ordering art and maps. It took a little longer than planned for the Springtime Comes to Kidwelly art and maps to come in, so we are a little behind on that front, but I think that we can still get the PDF out before the end of May.

Choosing Larger Encounters and More!
about 5 years ago – Thu, Jan 31, 2019 at 11:52:35 PM

Hello Runewild Backers,

As I write, it is still January in my timezone, so I'm still counting this as the January update, even though many of you are probably reading this in February.

This most exciting news is that Bill has put together a bunch of descriptions of possible extended encounters, and it's time for you all to pick which ones we include.

Because I hate having to pick a single favorite, I'm going to ask you to read each idea rate how much you want it between one and five (one means you dislike it, five means you love it). Then the the three that get highest rating will make it into the book as large keyed locations. (The runners up may appear as smaller encounters).

Follow this link to rate the encounters: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe0xATBZ733pu8GseqqvqN3QMTXJFvuXuGmtSmg9KlFGW3RrA/viewform?usp=sf_link

New Encounters

Speaking of the additional encounters, Bill is hard at work writing them. He's posted a couple on his blog, Niznoc Speaks. You can check out the She Sells Secrets to meet a cursed oracles, or get a glimpse of the Runewild's dark history in See the Satyr.

Other Updates

In other news Bill has given me the revised version of Springtime comes to Kidwelly. Our editor Craig had a busy January, so hasn't gotten a chance to work on it yet, but thinks he can in February.

We've also gotten some sketches in for Springtime, and Joyce will soon finish up the finals. (See one below).

That's all for now. I'll touch bases again some time in February.
